Sunshine, Sweet Rides & Thunderous Exhaust Notes
The town of Comber hosted one of its busiest evenings yet as nearly 200 cars filled the streets for May 2nd’s Cars & Coffee meet. It was sunny, dry, and the perfect conditions for people to show off their pride and joy—and trust us, there was plenty to show off.
From Cupras to Civics, the event looked like a cross between a car magazine photoshoot and a tuner festival. Type R Civics rolled in like they had group chat instructions, and the yellow DC2 Integra? Let’s just say it got more camera time than the sunset.
Convertible weather meant the drop-tops came out to play: dozens of MX-5s (some cute, some questionable), Boxsters, Z3s, Z4s, and that blue Mk3 Golf Cabriolet looking fresh out of a '90s brochure. The modified section had its own flavor, including a cheeky sky-blue Fiat Uno turning heads and a bright yellow Mk3 Golf holding its own elsewhere in the crowd.
The classics showed up in style too. Two lovely Beetles stole hearts—one a sleek grey model slammed on air suspension, and the other a rich red with black wheels that looked both mean and elegant.
Big power flexed its muscles with a strong showing of 911s, an RS6 that made the tarmac tremble, and an RS3 that proudly snapped, crackled, and popped its way around. The Caddy squad didn’t disappoint either—their lineup had half the crowd pointing and nodding in approval.
As the evening wound down, things got rowdy in the best way: cars leaving the church grounds delivered a mini firework show of revs, wheel spins, and the kind of popping and banging that made you grin, not flinch.
Most importantly, the community came together to raise £1867.27 for Mission Recife—proving that even when the engines cool down, the generosity keeps running hot.
