How long do I have to book an MOT retest in Northern Ireland?
You must apply for the retest within 21 days of the original MOT test.
If a vehicle fails its Northern Ireland MOT, the application for a retest must be made within 21 days of the original test. The retest must then be completed within 60 days of the original test.
Outside those limits, DVA may require a new full test and full test fee.
There are two separate deadlines to remember: the application deadline and the deadline for actually completing the retest. Missing either can mean starting again with a full test.
