Where should you park when visiting Derry City Walls?

Because Derry's City Walls form a circuit around the historic core, there is no single entrance that everyone should use.

If you want to start near **Bishop's Gate, the Diamond or St Columb's Cathedral**, **Bishop Street car park** is one of the most convenient council options. If you want to begin near the **Guildhall / Tower Museum** side, **Quayside, Foyleside or Victoria Market** may shorten the walk to your chosen starting point.

The key is to park for the part of the Walls where you want to start, then complete your walk on foot. Moving the car around the historic core defeats the point and can be slower than walking back across the city centre.

The Walls themselves are a pedestrian historic monument, so there is no parking “on” the attraction.
