For 2026/27, nidirect lists the daily vehicle charge as **£5 per car**. The forest is open to pedestrians around the clock, but the **vehicle gates open by 8am and are locked at dusk**, so plan your return time around the car park rather than the foot-access rules.

If you are specifically doing the **Waterfall Walk**, the main trail starts from the forest-park car park. Nidirect also notes an alternative restaurant car park at the bottom of the waterfalls, but that gives a different start and involves a steep climb.

For a first visit, the main car park is the safest choice because it serves the signed trails and visitor facilities.
