Authentic Autos is appropriately named. Keeps a stock of genuine high quality cars and is very particular about what they take in and even refused my part-exchange as it wasn't quite good enough for their stock. I have to say this gave me a lot of confidence in what I was buying. Love my Abarth so far, very easy and honest transaction.

Matthew at Authentic Autos was professional, thorough and knowledgeable. We bought a car with the intention of importing it from Northern Ireland to the Republic of Ireland. Matthew was very helpful with the paperwork requirements and knew exactly what we would need. He also dealt with all questions we had relating to the service and history of the car with professionalism and effort that goes above and beyond. The car itself is great and was a great price too.

My Dad and I purchased a 16 year old Mercedes Benz C320 CDI here around 3 years ago. Quite a rare car with that engine and only 36,000 miles on the clock with one owner. The car was purchased at a premium price with no warranty due to its age. Big mistake. The air con never worked properly and was leaking. The solution was to replace the condenser. After leaving it with an air con specialist we received a phone call to tell us that the car was full of hidden rust and it wouldn't be possible to carry out this work. These cars are known to rust from the inside out but I was told that this was a serious one. Also a black tar like substance was applied to underneath the car before we purchased it. This was to disguise hidden corrosion. When I contacted Matthew about possibly buying the car back he never responded to my messages. That's because he knew that the car was an absolute lemon. Eventually ended up selling the car in an auction at a huge loss leaving my Dad heartbroken. Don't think that you're going to get away with this. FYI the car was last put through an MOT by us in the first quarter of 2024. It was then sold at auction in August 2024 with only 51,000 miles. It was extremely well maintained and cared for. Every body panel was rusted from the inside out. The insides of the doors were rotten. The structure of the front of the car was crumbling with the bolts absolutely rotten hence why the air con specialist refused to work on it. The brake pipes had to be replaced because they were hidden from view because of the tar like substance which also welded the sump pan on. Don't blame the manufacturer. The car was overpriced and wasn't fit for purpose.

Having dealt with Matthew a couple of times since 2022 I can say the service he provides is exactly what a customer wants, knowledgeable and helpful. When I viewed a car Matthew had listed I was blown away by the level to which it was prepared, small details such as badges being replaced make all the difference. When I sold the same car back to Matthew in 2025 it was clear he is only interested in selling cars he can stand over. A breath of fresh air from the usual car dealerships and how they do business.

Authentic Autos have been our 'go to' for all our motoring needs for the past 12 years. To date we have bought 4 cars from Matthew, and various members of my extended family have also gone to him on our recommendation, and been equally happy with the service. Matthew's cars are consistently better presented than in a main dealer, & his attention to detail is both impressive & reassuring. Would heartily recommend.
