I bought my car from the Newry showroom and dealt with John McAnulty. He sent me a personalised video tour of the car explaining all the technical specs and features. When I came to see it, he set up a proper test drive to cover motorway and minor roads so I could really get a feel for the car. He explained all the warranties and optional extras so I could make informed choices about what I wanted. There was a bit of a hard sell on an interior/exterior protective coating which I declined and then got a phone call from another member of staff trying to sell me the product. All in all, the process was straightforward, John was really helpful and responsive and I am very happy with my purchase. Would recommend.

Recently purchased a BMW I4 from Shelbourne Motors. From start to finish the whole experience was seamless. Both Conors (sales manager and sales advisor) provided honest advice and answered all questions asked of them. At no point did I feel that i was being pushed to make any decisions regarding the car. In particular, the after sales service that i received was outstanding. When I returned back to my home (Dublin), I noticed minor damage on the underside of the wheel arch. As a gesture of goodwill, Conor offered to pay for the repair. This is a sign of a genuine, trustworthy dealership. Overall, a 10/10 experience. I have no doubt recommending these two guys to look after you when buying a quality used car!!

⸻ I had a mixed and ultimately disappointing experience. When I first went to view the car, it wasn’t quite as described, but after some negotiation I decided to go ahead with the purchase. Conor assured me that by Saturday, when I would collect the car, all documents would be ready and that a fault I found using an OBD scanner (Permanent P0C17 Drive Motor error) would be checked. However, when I returned to collect the car, another Conor (the manager, as I understood) was quite aggressive about the fact that I had scanned the car. In front of my family, he told me I could have my money back if I wasn’t happy, saying they had plenty of other customers for it — which didn’t feel appropriate considering the car had already been paid in full two days earlier. On top of that, the paperwork was not complete. The logbook wasn’t available, and I had to wait longer than promised to receive it, which caused stress as I had a VRT appointment booked. Since bringing the car home, the charging flap has not worked from the evening I arrived. The car was later diagnosed by Hyundai, and they confirmed the same fault I had found — it now requires a new motor. Overall, this was not a good experience for me, and I don’t think I would purchase from them again.
