I bought a car from Claredon Cars Ltd in March last year and unfortunately had problems from the very first day. I contacted the dealer, Conor, shortly after purchase, but I received no response for months. When I eventually did hear back, I was given different explanations and promises each month, none of which were followed through. The car is still under warranty, yet I was left with no choice but to pay out of my own pocket to have the issues fixed myself. The lack of communication, reliability, and after-sales support has been extremely disappointing. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Claredon Cars Ltd.

I bought a car from this dealership less than four months ago, and it’s been a nightmare from the start. Within the first week, the car developed faults — which they initially fixed — but soon after, more serious issues appeared: oil mixing with the coolant, repeated “top up coolant” warnings, and the spark plug light flashing while driving. They took the car back and told me that if repairs took too long, I’d be given a rental. The car ended up being with their mechanic for three weeks, during which time the dealership stopped responding to me entirely. No replies to texts, no one answered my calls. I had to contact the mechanic directly just to get any updates, and they didn’t even let me know when the car was ready. Now, the same issues have returned, and a new problem has developed — the engine management light has come on. I’ve emailed and texted them multiple times to explain what’s happening, and they’ve completely ignored me. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, if a fault appears within the first six months of buying a used car from a dealer, it’s legally assumed that the fault was present at the time of sale — unless the dealer can prove otherwise. This means they are responsible for ensuring the car is repaired properly and brought up to a satisfactory standard. At this point, I’m not trying to reject the car — I just want the dealership to take responsibility and carry out the necessary repairs properly, as they are legally required to do. Given their lack of communication and the ongoing issues, I feel I now have no choice but to seek legal advice to make sure my rights are respected. This experience has been incredibly stressful and disappointing. I strongly recommend that others think very carefully before buying from this dealership.

Bought a car from the lads back in April. Car was as described and I’ve not had a days trouble with the car. Very easy to deal with. Very friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.
