Eakin Bros (Isuzu, Subaru and Maxus) used cars in Londonderry

We’ve dealt with Jonny Brady for our last 3 cars and service has always been first class. The general service at Eakins is great and everyone happy to help however they can. Highly recommend

Worst dealer I’ve ever dealt with, like others say there’s no paper agreement everything is verbal. Advertised with 12 month warranty then as soon as a problem appeared all of a sudden it’s a 90 day warranty. We bought the car, drove it away that day and then went to get it taxed and was told it had no MOT, rang them back up and apart from the fact they couldn’t care less they offered to pay the whole £30 to book the MOT all we had to do was pay them 12 months road tax upfront and then MOT it ourselves. Begrudgingly we did! A week later the service light comes onand from the day we picked it up the rear brakes we’re squealing, broken bracket on sun visor, missing isofix covers and a few other little niggles, we where told to bring it back and they’d look at it, it’s a 150 mile round trip so we agreed to meet in the middle(ish) and they’d lend us a car. We left in our Alfa Stelvio (with half a tank of fuel) and they lent us a VW Tuigan, now I’m not a badge snob but the car they lend us was full of someone’s rubbish, it smelled of cigarettes and had virtually no fuel in it, clearly was one someone was using and didn’t look after. Didn’t complain just got on with it, few days later met again to get mine back, fuel empty, brakes still squealing and parts they ordered hadn’t show up so they’d ship them to us. Rang back the next week, still no brackets, covers etc brakes squealing and was told to give a few weeks to let the “new” brakes bed in, 2 months past still same issue no brackets etc brakes never settled and was told it’s now out of warranty but if we brought it back they’d look at it again, didn’t bother, another couple months pass, service light on again!! Ring them up and was told again not their problem out of warranty etc even though there was less than 8,000 miles done since we bought it. Service manager tells us these cars need serviced every 8,000 miles, Alfa claim every 20k. Verify it with the Alfa garage and ring Eakin back and the service manager again tells us “Alfa” are wrong and he is right it needs done every 8,000 miles. In the end went and got it serviced by our usual garage only to find Eakin never serviced it, just reset the service light, oil physically couldn’t have been in the state it was after 20,000 miles never mind 8,000. Cabin filter, air filter, oil filter hadn’t been changed, brake pads installed incorrectly. I would advise anyone who has bought from them recently to have your car checked over by an independent garage as there’s a high chance Eakin never serviced or did any maintenance before selling it to you!!!

Dealt with Curtis McBride and the experience was excellent from start to finish. Nothing was too big or too small—Curtis was professional, responsive, and made setting up all the required paperwork and arrangements straightforward and stress-free. The level of customer service was great, and everything was handled efficiently. Couldn’t recommend him highly enough.
