Can I appeal a private parking charge because the signs were unclear?

A private parking claim usually depends on the terms displayed at the site. If the driver could not reasonably see the parking limit, payment requirement, permit rule or charge, that can be highly relevant to whether a clear contract was formed.

Take wide photographs showing the entrance, route into the car park and the position of signs, then closer photographs showing the wording and readability. Time-of-day conditions matter too: signs that are readable in daylight may be difficult to see at night if they are unlit.

Submit the evidence with the appeal rather than simply saying the signs were 'bad'. A useful challenge explains exactly what term was not visible, where the vehicle entered and parked, and why the signage did not clearly communicate the alleged condition.
