If you paid the correct tariff but accidentally typed one or more characters of the registration incorrectly, keep the ticket, bank transaction, app receipt or payment confirmation. That evidence can show that payment was genuinely made for the relevant time.

Explain the typo clearly and provide enough information for the operator to match the payment to your vehicle and parking session. If the machine issued a printed ticket, photograph or scan it before the ink fades.

The outcome is not guaranteed because the operator may rely on its terms, but this is materially different from not paying at all. Where an accredited operator rejects a reasonable appeal, check the rejection letter for any independent appeal route and the deadline for using it.
