Can I challenge a parking PCN if my car broke down?

Keep recovery paperwork, garage invoices, photographs, roadside-assistance logs or call records. State when the fault occurred and when the vehicle was moved.

The authority may consider whether the vehicle was actually broken down or merely stopped for another reason. Evidence showing that the fault required assistance is therefore useful.

Submit the challenge as soon as possible, particularly if you want to preserve the early discount rules. If the case continues to a Notice to Owner, repeat the breakdown evidence in the formal representation.
