Today, the PureCar team headed down to the Down Royal Motor Show — and what an incredible day it turned out to be! The weather played its part perfectly, sitting at a pleasant 18°C with just a few light spits of rain throughout the day.
From early morning, the crowds were flowing steadily through the gates, and the turnout was fantastic. The show field was packed with around 200 cars, creating an electric atmosphere full of excitement and interest for all ages and tastes.
Among the highlights were several Porsche 911s, including a particularly stunning red Porsche 911 Covin that drew plenty of admiration. BMW fans were treated to a strong lineup too, with an immaculate E60 M5, some brightly coloured M4s adding a splash of vibrance, a sleek black E46 M3, and a great selection of decked-out E36s.
Honda enthusiasts were well looked after, with a strong showing of Civic Type R's, a beautiful yellow Integra DC2, and a wide-turbo'd S2000 sporting an aggressive wide-arch body kit. The VW Caddy crew also turned heads, with a superb lineup including one stand-out red Caddy fitted with a slick front window tint.
It was great to see so many classic VW Beetles too — everything from decal-covered classics to a rare convertible Beetle, adding a real retro vibe to the show.
We really loved the beastly R32 GTR sitting proudly on gold wheels — it looked absolutely badass! It was also a lovely surprise to spot a wee blue Saxo VTR and a pristine Williams Clio thrown into the mix, showing love for some iconic small hot hatches.
The 90s nostalgia continued with a couple of stunning Toyota Celica GT-Fours, looking every bit the rally legends they are. Towards the back of the show, we came across an incredible Ferrari 575M — and even better, it was a rare manual example, a real treat for any car enthusiast!
Not far from that, there was a fantastic lineup of old-school Minis, many kitted out with classic front spotlights, showing off that unmistakable charm.
The Ford Mondeo club were out in action today too, so good to see a selection of these much loved cars.
Adding to the variety, there were also a few standout vans, including a dark green one fully kitted out for the ultimate weekend adventure. Off-road fans were also catered for, with a pair of stunning Defenders featuring wide arches and high-lift kits, looking ready to tackle anything in their path.
Tucked into a corner, we found a black S-Class — an amazing piece of engineering and luxury, quietly commanding respect.
All in all, the Down Royal Motor Show 2025 was a brilliant day out, packed full of automotive gems and great vibes. We can’t wait to be back again next year!
