WHAT THE CODE MEANS

Parked without a valid pay-and-display ticket or cashless parking event

Northern Ireland uses code 06 for this contravention.

The code appears on a Penalty Charge Notice so that the particular parking or bus-lane contravention being alleged can be identified.

CURRENT PCN AMOUNT

How much can the ticket cost?

The standard Northern Ireland PCN charge is £90.

A 50% discount reduces this to £45 when payment is made within the first 14 days.

If the case progresses to a Charge Certificate, the amount increases to £135.

BEFORE YOU PAY

Check the details on the PCN.

Check that the registration, location, date, time and contravention code shown on the notice match the circumstances.

If you believe the PCN was issued incorrectly, Northern Ireland has an official challenge and representation process.
