Local car park, route and access details

NI Water says the main gates on Head Road are the only vehicle access point. After paying at the entrance, drivers must follow a one-way traffic system to the main car park towards the southern end of the reservoir grounds. The published admission schedule also lists motorcycles at £2.50, minibuses at £13 and coaches at £35, which makes the car price distinct from larger group-vehicle rates.

What to check before travelling

Do not try to reach the reservoir via an unmarked mountain access track or a walking trail. Follow the gate and one-way road signs, then use the designated car park for the park’s walking routes. NI Water also lists an annual car pass at £20 for regular visitors; check the latest notice before travelling as admission amounts and opening arrangements can change.
