Local car park, route and access details

Mid and East Antrim Borough Council publishes 274 spaces at Castle Car Park, 75 at Windrose and 37 at Marine Gardens. The charged High Street car park has 60 spaces, Joymount has 77 and Lancasterian Street has 109. That gives drivers a meaningful choice between different sides of the town centre, rather than an assumption that parking beside the castle and in every high-street site has the same price.

What to check before travelling

If visiting Carrickfergus Castle, confirm the entrance for Castle Car Park and whether any temporary restrictions affect your chosen bay. For High Street or Joymount, follow the posted payment tariff and signs. The council’s list says these are charged, but it does not guarantee a place or cover third-party car parks.
