Where can I leave my car in Ballycastle before taking the Rathlin Island ferry?

Rathlin Island ferries depart from the Ballycastle harbour terminal at Bayview Road, BT54 6BT. For parking, check the council’s Harbour and Marina car parks first, then compare nearby Ballycastle council sites before leaving the car for your sailing.

Local car park, route and access details

The Harbour car park has 145 listed spaces and Marina has 65. Both charge 50p per hour between 8.30am and 6.30pm each day from 1 April to 30 September. Ballycastle also has free council parking at Castle Street and Sheskburn House, but those spaces are away from the immediate ferry terminal and may not suit every passenger’s luggage or mobility requirements. Rathlin Ferry itself directs travellers to the council car park list and warns that spaces close to the terminal are limited at busy times.

What to check before travelling

Allow time to find parking rather than arriving at the ferry terminal at the last moment. Rathlin Ferry says passengers should arrive at least 30 minutes before departure. If your car will remain overnight or for several days, check the rules for your chosen car park directly; the seasonal tariff alone does not establish permission for extended parking.
