Have these details ready
Booking reference
You need the DVA booking reference from the original appointment.
Vehicle details
Have the vehicle registration number or trailer ID number ready.
Email access
DVA sends a six-digit authentication code to the email used for the booking. The current code is valid for 20 minutes.

Find the booking reference
Use the reference connected with the existing DVA appointment rather than starting from scratch.
Have the vehicle details ready
You will need the relevant registration or trailer identification when accessing the booking.
Use the booking email
Make sure you still have access to the email address associated with the appointment because DVA uses it during the authentication process.
Changing the date, time or test centre
If the original appointment no longer works, consider what actually needs to change. If the date is the problem, another centre may sometimes provide a more useful appointment.

Once you know which centres would work for you, use the official DVA appointment-management service to see the live alternatives available.
Do not simply miss the appointment
If you know you cannot attend, use the official DVA service and follow the notice rule applying to your vehicle category.
Cancellation rules can differ by vehicle type, so do not assume the private-car timing automatically applies to every commercial or specialist vehicle booking.
