Derrygonnelly lies northwest of Enniskillen and is a useful approach town for forest and lough-side destinations in west Fermanagh.

Choose Derrygonnelly itself or the precise trailhead in satnav: routes towards Lough Navar, Carrigan Forest and lakeside sites diverge after you leave the main town. The last section to a forest entrance may be on narrower roads than the Enniskillen approach. Do not assume that a nearby forest name marks a vehicle entrance.
