Which road runs from Hillsborough through Dromore and Banbridge towards Newry?

The A1 is the principal north–south corridor joining the Hillsborough, Dromore, Banbridge and Newry areas.

It carries through traffic as well as vehicles entering or leaving nearby towns. TrafficWatchNI lists camera locations at Hillsborough South, Dromore, Banbridge and several Newry-side junctions. If you are turning off to visit a town centre, use its signed exit rather than assuming the A1 passes through the shopping streets themselves.
