The motorcycle practical route has two practical tests: a manoeuvres test and an on-road riding test.
A1 is available from age 17, A2 from 19, and unrestricted Category A can be reached by direct or progressive access depending on age and experience.
Motorcycle manoeuvres tests are offered at a limited set of DVA centres.
Passing on an automatic or semi-automatic machine restricts the full motorcycle entitlement to that transmission type.
