The current Northern Ireland penalty is six points for the Article 56A(b) mobile-phone offence.

The rule is wider than the person holding the phone

The statutory wording also covers causing or permitting another person to drive while using a prohibited hand-held telephone or interactive communication device.

EMPLOYERS

Employers can also create liability
