Residents Parking Permits in Northern Ireland
Residents parking zones use permits and controlled bays to manage on-street parking in designated areas.
Resident, business and visitor permits can allow parking within the zone.
Current official guidance says holders of valid resident, business and visitor permits can park in parking bays within the relevant zone without the normal parking charge.
A residents permit does not reserve a specific parking space.
The permit allows eligible parking within the scheme but does not guarantee that a space will be available.
Some zone bays can still be used by other drivers on a paid basis.
Official guidance states that non-permit holders may be charged to use pay-and-display bays within the zone.

Residents living within a resident parking zone can apply using the current official resident parking permit application process.
