Change the Address on Your Northern Ireland Driving Licence

You must keep DVA informed when your Northern Ireland address changes. Eligible licence holders can use the official online service.

What you need

Prepare before starting.

NI licence number

Your driving licence number is shown at item 5 on the photocard.

Expiry date

The licence expiry date is shown at item 4b.

Email address

Have a valid email address ready for the online process.

Both licence parts

The official process explains when the photocard and paper counterpart must be returned to DVA.

Near expiry?

You may need to renew instead.

If your licence has expired or is within two months of expiring, the official address-change service says you cannot use that process and must apply to renew the licence instead.
