If either part of your Northern Ireland licence is lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed, you can apply for a replacement through DVA.

The quickest replacement route.

DVA provides an online replacement service for eligible full and provisional Northern Ireland licences.

The replacement is an identical licence to the entitlement you currently hold. It is not the process for upgrading a licence after passing another driving test.

By post

Replacing your licence using DL1.

For a postal replacement, the official guidance requires a DL1 application form, any remaining part of the licence and the appropriate fee.

DL1 forms are available from main Post Office branches and the official replacement guidance specifically states that they are not downloadable.
